Minutes of the meeting held on the 5th January 2004 in the CRAIGNURE HALL
PRESENT : Alan Mc Connochie, Tom Bettley, Sandy Brunton, Michael Ackerley, Derek Crook.
APOLOGIES : Olive Brown, John Cable, Georgia O’Neill.
MINUTES : Minutes of the meeting on 1st December 2003 proposed by Derek and seconded by Tom.
MATTERS ARISING : <ALAN> and <SANDY>will make a list of questions for Alasdair Mac Dougall with a view to inviting him to our next meeting.
TRAVEL SHOW - <ALAN> has contacted Holiday Mull and will continue speaking to all interested parties during the month and report back.
ANNUAL DINNER - Details of the Annual Dinner will be announced at the next meeting regarding venue, guests, etc.
CHAMBER PUBLICITY - <SANDY> will prepare an article for the Muilleach. All present agreed Sandy should be able to comment on Chamber matters to the press on our behalf. <ALL BOARD MEMBERS> should try to contribute by way of articles, etc. to the website. Another idea is to invite members to send in contributions.
PRESIDENT : Sandy reported that the WOSCG meeting is to be in Glasgow on the 19.2.04.
Sandy presented a draft of the Chambers driving initiative notice for comment.
WEBSITE - Georgia sent an update from her sickbed. She reported on the improvement of our site on the web as well as site additions. The changes to the Zynet site are ongoing. Georgia suggests job vacancies, etc. will need to be advertised regularly to increase awareness. Thanks to Georgia for her efforts whilst suffering from flu.
TREASURER - Tom reported a balance of £3871.43.
SECRETARY - Alan reported on correspondence received in the month.
