The Green Tourism Business Scheme and us ............
Once again, this is a tourist board associated scheme. Sandy and I - and a few more of you - went to (different) seminars the other week, taken by Andrea Nicholas who has an office in Perth. She and one other run the scheme, although some of the VisitScotland graders can assess you as well.
It sounds like a good idea to me, and if Perthshire go all 'green' as they are threatening to, then it might be a good idea for a few more of us to join. Yes, I know that many of you are not members, so why don't you contact Andrea at gtbs@green-business.co.uk , and tell her you'd like the scheme extended to businesses outwith VisitScotland?
I have been trying to go 'green' for many years now, but with the advent on recycling on the island, we are all off to a good start. If you also use recycled paper, low energy light bulbs, and 'Nouvelle' toilet paper, you are already scoring points. In fact, it is incredibly easy to score 'points' for the scheme - even allowing some of their ideas are a bit 'way out'. If you want to start doing us all some good, then try surfing these sites...
