The Chamber of Commerce

Mull and Iona Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1992 after a group of business people felt there would be merit in trying to gather together to exchange views, lobby, share ideas and generally “fight for our corner”. Our stated aim is  “Mull and Iona Chamber of Commerce exists to protect and preserve businesses that trade on the Isle of Mull, Iona and associated islands”.  We are affiliated to other larger Chamber groupings such as The West of Scotland Group, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Scottish Chambers of Commerce (and through them – British Chambers of Commerce), and we are, so far, the only UK Chamber to become a member of EU Chambers on Islands.

The isles of Mull and Iona lie off the west coast of Scotland. With a population of just under 3000 on an island fifty miles from North to South, the Mull is one of the largest Hebridean islands, but like them all, sparsely populated. The main population centre is Tobermory, where nearly 1,000 people live and work.

Mull is deservedly well known as a holiday island, with superb walking, fishing and outdoor pursuits amid spectacular scenery. There is abundant wildlife on land, in the surrounding seas and in the air – elements of a rare natural environment that bring many people to visit and to live.

Holiday information :

For information about visiting the islands, please contact tourist information info@mull.visitscotland.com.

Isle of Mull accommodation :

Isle of Mull accommodation ranges from smart hotels to comfortable bed and breakfast in local homes.  There are campsites, self catering holiday cottages, hostels and bunkhouses for the more energetic. See listings for Isle of Mull accommodation

Isle of Mull activities :

The Isle of Mull has plenty of activities to offer. Try a boat trip to Staffa and the Treshnish Isles to see puffins, or sail further out to go whale watching.  Be driven around by wildlife experts and be shown how to spot otters, seals, eagles and buzzards.  Play golf on beautifully maintained courses, fish in the sea or in the rivers and lochs.

Where is 'Balamory' filmed?

Younger visitors to Mull will recognise Tobermory as being the setting for the BBC's 'Balamory' which is filmed in the town.
